The scope of use of casters is getting wider and wider. Using the right casters can save costs and improve work efficiency. How much do you understand about casters? I will tell you "the cold knowledge you have to know about casters"
1. The default unit of size is inches. When we buy casters, we always mention how big the size is. The unit of size here is inches, not "inches" in my country.
2. Do iron core wheels and cast iron wheels bear more weight than other wheels? No. The technology in the process makes the injection molded wheels have the same load-bearing capacity. Some people in the market use cast iron wheels, which is low in price and cost-saving.
3. The surface treatment of the caster bracket is generally galvanized and sprayed with black paint. In the market, the bracket colors you usually see are divided into two types: silver and black. Silver is electroplated with a layer of zinc to make the bracket silver; black is sprayed with black oil when spraying paint to make the bracket silver.
4. Double bearings are more stable than single bearings, and single bearings rotate faster. Double bearings are used in high-end products, and their stability, quietness and load-bearing capacity are stronger than single bearings. Single bearing is a simplified version of double bearing. Although its performance is not as good as double bearing, it is more cost-effective than other bearings. If you want to save costs, you can use single bearing.
5. Braking method: Side brake is commonly used abroad, and double brake is used in China. The design of side brake is more user-friendly, suitable for many equipment, and the price is relatively cheap; the appearance of double brake is more beautiful, and you need to pay attention to the "installation height" requirement when installing.
6. Are iron-containing wheels more corrosion-resistant than other wheels? No, the single wheels produced by regular caster manufacturers have all been salt spray tested and meet national standards. If you buy iron core wheels, the price is even more expensive.
7. Are rubber wheels (ER wheels) softer than polyurethane wheels (PU wheels)? Not necessarily. The hardness of the material can be adjusted. Some manufacturers' rubber wheels are harder than nylon wheels, so rubber casters also have hard rubber and soft rubber. When purchasing casters, if there is no requirement, soft rubber is the default.
